3) Nature EnvironmentThe courses are inspired by the most challenging hiking route in Zhejiang, with 7 tips over 1000m from the sea level, 4 of which exceed 1500m altitude. The highest point of Zhejiang province, a Peak named Yellow Tip (pinyin: huang-mao-jian, 黄茅尖) sits right on the course. Its height is 1929m from the sea level. The climate of Longquan is a hybrid of the subtropical zone and the temperate zone. The ecological system is as intact as you can imagine, both plants and animals. You can never expect that there is a natural heaven hidden in the most developed region along the coastline of China.4) Culture HeritageLongquan has been famous for its production of celadons (pinyin:qing-ci, 青瓷) and swords for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The sophisticated and fine Longquan celadons had been chosen by the imperial clans as a tribute since the Song dynasty (pinyin: song, 宋), while the swords industry started from the Warring States (pinyin: zhan-guo, 战国) period, roughly 2600 years ago.Ch'iu Chin (pinyin: qiu-jin 秋瑾), the first Chinese feminist, wrote about her ambition to overthrow the regime of the Qing dynasty (pinyin: qing, 清). “Stop disparaging the role of women in the social movement. They are bloodthirsty Longquan swords every night.” (休言女子非英物,夜夜龙泉壁上鸣) at the beginning of 20th century.Zhejiang has been well-known for its commercial history in international trade as well. For centuries, it had connected China, with countries in the Middle East, East Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and so forth by ocean transport. Nowadays, it has been of strategic importance in the Belt and Road Initiative, as the most prosperous area in China.
